Elf on a shelf is a doll elf. It comes with a book explaining that the elf was sent from Santa. The elf reports to Santa every night, how the kids are behaving. The kids can not touch the elf or he will loose his magic. We were given the elf 3 years ago. My kiddoes do not believe in Santa so we never used him.
The Elf on a Shelf popularity has grown. Kids were going to school and discussing what their elfs were doing. Ian and Chloe wanted to partake. So out came Big E. Before we knew it, Chad and I were caught up in the fun. Every morning, the kids got up to find where the elf was and see what he got into that night. It was fun to watch them get caught up in it too.
My friend Stephanie Berry had an Elf Party. Santa gave the mommies permission to bring their elfs to this party. It was sooooo cute and it really got the kids pumped up for Christmas.
