Twas the morning before Christmas, when all through my thoughts
My sewing machine was not moving, and all my presents were bought
The to-do list were checked, not once but twice with care,
and hopes that Christmas cards get to our friends, we want to share.
My peeps are nestled all snug in their beds,
While visions of hamsters and legoes dancing in their heads.
And I blogging at my computer, and dad out for a run,
Our month of Christmas traditions and celebrations are done.
Lets not forget the true meaning of the season
TOMORROW is Christ's birthday and for that reason
As a Christian, I am forgiven and thankful HE came,
One day He will come back and call us by name!
(I am not good at writing Christmas poems like Mom)
My sister shared something with me a couple of weeks ago. It hit the nail on the head. . . "Did we inherit some gene that makes us over commit, un-able to say no, and fill our lives with so many wonderful people that we don't have enough time for all of them???"
It is so true. Of course we all know that I over committ and always have a ton of thing to do and accomplish. It was the fun things, the socials, the get togethers that I did not want to miss but did not have enough days in the month of December to do. Chad and I are so blessed to have such precious people in our lives. We want to spend time with alll of them and share in their fun times too.
We hav had a BLAST this month. We have been to . . .
Bonfires, Christmas Parties, Ornament exchanges, Christmas Boat Parade, School Parties, Christmas lights, Opryland decorations, Cookie Swap, Brunches, Potlucks, Elf Party, Work Parties, Wrapping Party, and still have a Christmas Eve Dinner and Ugly Christmas Sweater Bonfire to go to with friends.
We have had lots of laughs, cookies, are broke from babysitter fees, and created great memories with our friends and kiddoes.
