Magic can happen in a blink of an eye. Life can be taken in a blink of an eye. Time can disappear in a blink of an eye. Today was a special day that has really made me reflect and be thankful.
We have gotten to know a special couple over the past couple of years. The husband has learned that his father does not have much longer to live. I wish I knew his father better. He seems to be an incredible man who has touch so many. He had to give up his job and passion, working at Vanderbilt hospital. He has another passion, magic tricks. His dream would have been to perform his magic tricks to his grandkids one day. Our friends do not have children yet but wanted to make the dream come true. They invited their friends and their children over today for a MAGIC SHOW. There was about a dozen kids that were wowed by a great show. I bet several of them are going to go home and try to make a hankies disappear. I hope his son will treasure up this memory and he can share this day with his kids. Their grandfather will leave a great legacy.
I know that my family left today with great memories of a fun afternoon. We have pondered life and loved ones a little bit more. We will try to treasure and enjoy each day just a little bit more. Not only did our friends try and make dreams come true but they have made my family be a little more thankful and not take life and loved ones for granted
