Welcome 2008

Wow!  I can not believe it is 2008!  Chloe will start school this year!
Gp took the kids to play tennis in the morning. (before the heat hit)  Ian's fore arm was hurting the next morning.  We spent New Years Eve at the Lagoon, of course.  That is where the festivities are always held.  They had shrimp, rice, hotdogs, cotton candy, live band, bingo, dancing, blow-ups bouncy things etc.  The kids could not make it that long.  So we cam back and put them to bed and we stayed up and played cards till time of the race.

The object of this race is to time your start of the 2 mile race to cross the finish line at Midnight, no wactches aloud. Christy and I were about 30 seconds too earlly and Chad and Dad were about a minute behind.  Not bad.
New Years day we rented a boat to head out to a huge coral head.  We never made it.  About an hour into "riding" the Pacific Ocean waves, Mommy was a party pooper and said that is it, turn around.  My children are too precious and this is CRAZY!!!  As we turned around one of the 2 engines stopped working.  Well with that, went half our power on a boat that already seemed powerless to the AWESOME power of the ocean.  I will not even begin to describe what the ride back was like but 2 hours later we pull back into the harbor sing "A Three Hour Tour".  While we were out we saw 2 WWII ships sticking out of the water.

New Years Day is also Granny's Birthday.  She is my Dad's mom who passed away a couple weeks ago.  She would have been 80 and we celebrated by cooking some of her recipes.  We started with her biscuits for breakfast.  We still have to eat her famous "thumb" cookies.
